DIOCESAN ECOLOGICAL SPIRITUALITY RETREAT DAY

On Saturday, 8th October 2022, a few Parishioners attended the Diocesan Ecological Spirituality Retreat Day held at Winbourne, Mulgoa.
It was a terrific day of learning sharing and opportunity for personal growth led by Dr Trish Hindmarsh, a highly regarded faith educator, teacher and leader in justice , peace and ecology issues.
The Parishioners were invited to attend because our parish is now one of the growing number of parishes in the Parramatta Diocese which has signed up to become a registered Catholic Earthcare Parish. Over thirty people from these parishes attended the retreat.
Dr Hindmarsh used her latest publication Ecological Spirituality – Caring for Our Common Home as the organising material for the day. Copies of the text are available through the Parish office.
The retreat day was organised by members of the Diocesan Laudato Si Action Team who were also present. Dr Sebastian Salaske-Lentern, the leader of the Team, welcomed all on behalf of Bishop Vincent.
Laudato Si empowers us to live in gratitude for the gifts of Creation teaches us to love and care for Mother Earth and all its inhabitants, in the spirit of St Francis of Assisi and others.  You will hear more about how you can get involved in this Diocesan and parish initiative in the coming months.
You can find out more by viewing the Catholic Earthcare poster in the notice board outside the Church.
